April 2024 – Polymer buttons
Diane McCauley from the Central Iowa chapter came to teach us how to make buttons out of polymer clay. An accomplished seamstress and polymer artist, Diane started off her presentation with a delightful trunk show of garments with matching or coordinating polymer buttons. And, because she’s awesome like that, some of them also had matching earrings. How fun is that?
After a short break for refreshments, Diane gave each of us a small chunk of polymer clay and let us borrow one of her texture molds. Then she demonstrated how to form the buttons, and we were off. Once they were cured (in the oven, ~30 min), the buttons were ours to take home. Pretty cool, eh?
