April 2025 – Slow stitching with Sarah Serbousek

Sarah loves to do hand sewing. She was laid up for an extended time and found hand stitching was a way to be creative when she could not get to her machine. Her use of large stitches are very reminiscent of Sashiko stitching. The projects were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them up close as we passed them around the room. They reminded me of the embroidery my Granny taught me. Seeing this done on garments and other “non traditional” items opened my eyes to how these stitches and techniques can be used to jazz up items and make them even more fun and uniquely yours.
