Helios Stitches came down from Mt. Vernon to talk to us about rulers for quilting. Isn’t this a gorgeous quilt?


We celebrated our chapter’s birthday by – what else? – shopping for fabulous fabrics and finding new inspiration in fabric stores in our area.
We learned how to make handbags from one of our own, Deb Cannon.
Have you seen those gorgeous rope bowls and wondered how they’re made? We did too, but now we know because Sarah showed us.
We pulled out the stops on gorgeous place settings – from simple to fancy – and sipped three different teas to learn about the flavors.
Sarah loves to do hand sewing. She was laid up for an extended time and found hand stitching was a way to be creative when she could not get to her machine. Her use of large stitches are very reminiscent of Sashiko stitching. The projects were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them up close…
